2024 election returns positive for The Builders Political Action Committee
 |
The Builders Political Action Committee (BAPAC) convened prior to the general election to distribute funds to candidates. Results from the election were positive for candidates supported by BAPAC.

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 11, 2024 – The Builders, a chapter of the AGC, Political Action Committee (BAPAC) convened earlier this year to determine a bipartisan slate of candidates in both Missouri and Kansas to contribute funds. With the 2024 election cycle over, Builders Government Relations Director Allen Dillingham reports only one race where a BAPAC-supported candidate lost, and it’s due to the committee contributing to both candidates: Clay County, Missouri’s Senate District 17 seat had Rep. Maggie Nurrenbern (D) in a race against Presiding Commissioner Jerry Nolte (R). Nurrenbern won the election.
A complete list of results appears below.
Additionally, Dillingham summarized the results of the election in The Builders region: A GOP wave took the White House and Senate. As of this posting, there are 19 uncalled races in the House, with current results pointing to Republicans maintaining the majority.
In Kansas and Missouri, both legislatures retained supermajorities in both houses. Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe will be Missouri’s next Governor.
For more information, AGC of America's CEO & Government Relations team will host a webinar this Thursday, Nov. 14 to discuss the impact of the 2024 election results. The webinar will also explore what the results signal for the future of the construction industry. With a new president taking office and the 119th Congress convening in January, the political landscape is undergoing significant change, bringing with it a wave of new legislative and regulatory priorities. These developments have the potential to impact the construction industry, influencing everything from workforce development to expiring tax provisions and infrastructure investments.
